This first one is one of the many entrances to downtown. It's actually very pretty there and cars are not allowed. There are many "sights" to be held here.

Bird houses line the parameter of this park. I'm sure there is a significant reason why the city has this park, probably the core research facility of bird flu, but from all I know it's just for fun.

This is my teacher. I don't know her name.

I exchanged her for my previous man teacher and have been happy ever since.
Today we went to the park for our lesson. I can't say I learned very much but it was a very nice day and I got to see many cool places. You see that ear phone dangling from her leg. That was mine. We rocked out to some solid china tunes and there was even a song by Wynonna Judd in there. I like the chinese more and more each day. they're difficult to understand because they are so different. Here's a coulpe of picks of the park known as Green Park.

these pictures don't do it much justice. it's a bit more green and on all the foot paths there are many flowers. from what i understand it is more beautiful at night because everything is lit up. i think i'll save that sight for my next visit. something nice about the the park is the people. there are always men and women singing, dancing, and playing music there. it's pleasant to sit on a bench looking over the water under the shade of the trees and listen and smell the biology. it make a person feel good...especially with the wind blowing through your hair.

we went to the part of town where there a lot of white people and i didn't like it. most of them were part of that international travel scene that's a bastard breed of dirty, grimy, open minded, and free. needless to say i am very suspicious of the white folk in china. the reasons for being here vary too greatly and the bulk of them are not so good. life here is easy. in cost ratio to home it's nothing. a good apartment a little out of the center of town is about $50 a month, and a penthouse downtown is $500.

we also went to the university. it's the best university in the province. i had a notion that it was more beautiful and larger than it was but that has been dispelled. i have many pictures but i decided to post this one of the steps leading to the main building.


i saw some scenes strait out of a china parody or B-rate film where the wise old humpback grounds keepers povide, to one unique student, TOUGH guidence essential to the success of his sociology thesis, and all this to the dismay of the hard edge death knoll dean of the school (always dressed in black) looking for any reason to kick the student out of the school, all the while holding some mysterious secret that only the audience is aware of.

i played a few films through my mind and settled on one. there were a lot of wise old men so i had plenty to work with and in the end everything came together brilliantly. in the end the apprentice student, finaly pulling his paper into perfect harmony by a singular fact that so surprising came out of the blue but we were so blinded from the emotional injustice to see it on the end of our noses all along, upsets the entire order the university. (it the most prestigious in the nation, and has strong ties to corrupt politicians bringing the lower class of the population to its already bruised knees) it's been a mind straining puzzle up to this point but it's so simple now! Not only do we realize the three wise ground keepers are brothers, and we will never figure out which one we like the best because their story and unique forgiving natures, that were separated at birth (better yet they are triplets and we couldn't tell because of the small deformities we learn to consider as beautiful that are a result of their trouble pasts) by their oldest wisest brother who is the unforgiving dean of the school. this dean is very close in chacter and appearance to the Emperor in Star Wars.  He speaks the same, just in Chinese.

in the end we realize that soft wisdom is more constructive than cold brooding omniscient wisdom. but that's simply the overtone! the true moral of the story is that a life lived for the self is an empty life no matter how much power or money you have. but the film is not over. once everything is resolved and we the audience content, there is a final twist. as the camara fades to the credits and the music has not yet begun we see the three forgiving bothers murdering the broken and redeemed dean in a ghastly savage act revenge. who'd of thougth it!!!! what are we to do? where is the justice? is there even such a thing as justice?

there's a lot more to the movie now but i don't have the time to get into it.  The names of the wise(?) brothers are Teng (painful), Toe (head),  snf Sanzi (throat) and the name of the dean is Piaoliang (beautiful) is movie is going to be deep stuff.  brace yourself

Sooner or later the truth always comes out. I think we finaly know why Stellar (Andrew)
has taken so many "surf" trips in or around Asia. All that I've been able to confirm thus far are his three consecutive victories in the Asian body building championships. The picture below is his 2001 victory...his last. Nice work Drew, everyone is so proud of you.

For any of my readers intersted in coming to China...and eating, give your waitress a firm "No! i don't want food poisoning!" It can take any form here so one ought to always be wary. Don't worry, no matter how many chairs you throw and how high you raise your voice to get you point across it is, to the waitress, merely a strong indication that you are infact not a toursist and she isn't going to pull one over on you. In some restaurants ending the order with a plate or cup through the window is the same jovial comliment as, "What! &^%$, you got to be kiddinging me! Go get me some of the chef's hair and cigarette ashes and mixed with congealed goat blood. Can i get some service puh-lease!" Doing so everyone walks away in a better mood.

I've sleept an extra 10 hours today and every time I awoke i found my legs felt like they were trying to roll themseves up just as you or I would roll up a sleeping bag and you can infact make a pool of sweat, within twenty minutes, large enough to swim in. I'm not going to go into the details of the effects of the poison, not because it's simply too awful but because I just don't want to write forty five pages. My little fingers are cramping up even now.

The bottle on the right that looks empty should make you feel something like doom, excitement, terror, and rough new beginnings rolled into a single sentiment. I found this death sentence on accident and decided to give it a whirl, albeit a very small whirl. From what I experienced it is a bottle containing twelve ounces of battery acid consentrated with 50% of alcohal. It is good for the Frankenjuncle portion of my body as it rechargesmy circuits. Other than that I think its good for killing small mamals, all reptiles, and Hope.

Both of these delighful ambrosias' make a total cost of 75 cents. I've taken up heavily with the No so Real Thing but haven't reached a solid conclusion about the Qing Jiu.
